WHY CHRISTIANITY?

Why should anyone trust in Christianity over Islam, Buddhism, Mormonism, or anything else?  It is because there are absolute truths, because only in Christianity is there accurate fulfilled prophecies of a coming Messiah.  Only in Christianity do we have the extremely accurate transmission of the eyewitness documents (gospels) so we can trust what was originally written.  Only in Christianity do we have the person of Christ who claimed to be God, performed many miracles to prove His claim of divinity, who died and rose from the dead, and who said that He alone was the way the truth and the life (John 14:6).  All this adds to the legitimacy and credibility of Christianity above all other religions -- all based on the person of Jesus. It follows that if it is all true about what Jesus said and did, then all other religions are false because Jesus said that He alone was the way, the truth, and the life and that no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).  It could not be that Jesus is the only way and truth and other religions also be the truth.

Either Jesus is true and all other religions are false or other religions are true and Jesus is false.  There are no other options.  I choose to follow the risen Lord Jesus.

PRAYER

"God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. All my days are in Your hands. I ask this in Jesus' precious and holy name. Amen."

A Christian is a person who has verbally, by faith, confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord, and has believed He physically came into the world, physically died at Calvary, physically rose from the dead after three days, and physically ascended to heaven and sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on High. When you believe and confess that, you pass from spiritual death into spiritual life. What makes one a Christian is personally and individually accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.

 

To be born again you must confess Jesus as Lord and believe that He is. When you ask Him into your heart, you are allowing Him to be the Lord of your life.

 

Salvation takes place when a person listens to the salvation message, believes it, and makes a decision to receive Jesus into his or her heart.

SIMPLE STEPS TO SALVATION

  1. Acknowledge in your heart that Jesus is Lord.
     

  2. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
     

  3. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised three days later.
     

  4. Repent of your sins and get baptized in the name of Jesus.
